A good outdoor antenna can significantly improve the data speed of your 5G router. It is important, though, to choose the right antenna.
Mobile data in cities and areas with a good outdoor signal
In cities and other locations where the outdoor signal is good to very good but is weakened by insulated glass, metal or concrete, an omnidirectional (rod) antenna works very well. Choose an antenna with high gain if the cable has to be longer than 10 metres. For 5G routers that fall back to 4G, an omnidirectional antenna is the best choice in this situation.
Rural areas and locations with a weaker outdoor signal
In rural areas where the outdoor signal is poor to fair, a directional antenna is preferred. On antennekaart.nl you can look up the nearest mast of the provider whose SIM card is in your router. Because 5G and 4G networks use multiple frequencies, all our antennas are wideband — for the highest possible data speed.
